    Default Camera not saving images

I have a jailbroken, unlocked 3G running 3.1.2 on T-Mobile that's not saving camera images). The photos do not show up in /var/mobile/Media/DCIM/100APPLE. When I upgraded to 3.1.2, I restored the backup from iTunes.

The camera seems to take pictures fine and the thumbnail of the last picture taken shows up on the Camera Roll button, but the picture isn't actually there. I don't see any "IMG_*.THM/BTH in the 100APPLE\.MISC folder, though, so the thumbnails seem to be stored somewhere else.

What's going on? Anybody have any ideas?

I changed the permissions for the DCIM folder to 777, and now it saves black images. I don't actually see the black image in the 100APPLE folder, however. The thumbnail photos are saved properly in the \DCIM\.MISC folder.

strange ... I suppose a restore would fix the problem. If setting filerights doesn't fix the issue, I have no idea

Perhaps it's cause I restored from iTunes backup? My GPS also does not seem to get a lock, either. GPS Kit doesn't display any information about speed and some other things, but perhaps it was just the conditions at the time.

I'll probably end up restoring since not having a working camera is a rather large issue.

the backup could be the issue, but it doesn't have to be.
as for GPS ... I suppose it was bad luck. try to get your position in maps. if you are indoors it can take a while, but it should be more-or-less accurate. it should be pretty accurate if you're under clear sky

Location in Maps works with WiFi on. I'll try using the GPS next time I'm in decent conditions and remember to do so. Can't seem to get signal indoors.

Fixed it by changing DCIM folder permissions to 777 (with "Set group, owner, and permissions recursively" option checked) and editing the number between <integer></integer> of Info.plist in the DCIM\.MISC folder to one above the current amount of pictures in Camera Roll.
