iPhone needs GUI refresh!!!
Apple really needs to refresh the iphone GUI for the coming firmware. Its getting old man. All of only buttons and no realtime updates from apps. There should be a home screen with some realtime update etcc!! Smething like the droid does on the HTC Hero Sprint!
If they could only do that and do multitasking they are still ahead but keepng this old only button based GUI will make the iphone get old very sooonnn!! Personally I loveee my iphone very much but seeing what the Hero of Sprint can with his GUI makes the iphone old fashion. Thats only for the GUI the rest of the iphone is superpppp.!!!

Not gonna happen ... ;-) I think you're mixing up GUI with other stuff btw.
For example multitasking has nothing to do with the GUI. And what would be the big point of multitasking anyway? I mean, it's the wrong terminology anyways, because the iphone SUPPORTS multitasking, as every other operating system in the last 30 years or so ^^ what you mean is run multiple appstore apps at once. what's the point except slowing down the phone?
that's just one example ... not everything other phones have is necessarily a good idea

I agree with the need for a refresh on the GUI, i.e. home screen or screens, 2.5 years later and it looks the same, nothing new. I would like to see a refreshed look, not an imitation.

Please, Apple enjoys bland, simple & plain. If you want an update you're SOL unless Apple decides they're tired of looking at it. They won't even let you put your own background for the springboard home screen for christ sake. They want every iPhone to look the same.

Coming back in the GUI...If you just take a loook at how the HTC Hero SPrint does with communication and realtime news/msg/sms you can feel that your iPhone is way back an old thing..c`mon people..stay awake now...
Defanetly Apple GUi is the best simple plain etc...dont have problem with it for 3 years..but now Seeing How the Android OS is coming and seeing how other mobiles are using Linux and Flash...and how they have some Realtime home screen with all the thing you can see...we iphone users DONT have that.. and WE NEED that... Everythime we need to Unlock to go and see the Icon that has a 2 Badge number on it than Click on it to open and then Scroll then select and Read... I know its just a 3 second Thing BUT....would be Nicer...seeing APPLE is the Leading Brand in Technology that Every one is Copy their styles... WE NEED some REFRESH.. I mean..seeing your Girlfriend 3 years in the same Clothes...you are gonna GET SICK of her right?
Just Think about it.. If we can Onlyyy get some Home screen or LOCK screen with some realtime Info..thats enough for me...
Seeing these guys here are making somethin I cant wait to buy and if they can do it..Apple can do it but they Wont...

first of all: you don't seem to know what multitasking is. a multitasking operating system is capable of running multiple tasks at once. iphone OS does that.
secondly: yeah, microsoft is using the same task bar for over 20 years ... except they havn't.

have to say two more things though:
1) running two apps at the same time is multitasking. right now, there are about 30 processes running at the same time on your iphone. that is multitasking. still, I said in my very first post that I know what you mean, but that doesn't change the fact that the iphone is capable of multitasking
