iTunes won't let me update to 3.1.2

I have a 3gs on 3.0 jailbroken with purplera1n. I'm trying to update and rejailbreak but when I click on the "check for update" button it says that 3.0 is the current firmware. Any Ideas? Can I get the firmware somewhere else? Thanks.

did you perhaps use the firmware spoof app? that app helped me fake having 3.1 to get the carrier settings for mms. it also stops itunes from asking you to update. if not it doesnt matter. if you cant update it, you gotta restore it. that or shift click update/restore it with a custom 3.1.2 fw.

Yeah I used fwchanger, but I deleted it. I guess it had already done its damage. So do I need to do a full restore or can I restore from a backup?
