Default Downloaded an application's png image files, but they don't open

So I navigated to a application folder on my iphone using cyberduck on my mac and downloaded some images. For some reason they don't work on my mac, nor does photoshop open them. Is it some kind of protection?

no, apple just uses another header than normal PNGs. there are some conversion tools for that, just google it

oh btw: you don't have to convert them back, the iphone reads both normal PNGs and the iphone PNGs

Thanks, that makes sense because some of the images worked and some didn't.
