the path u have posted matches my 3.0's path that is here:
/private/var/mobile/Media
you must be in var...but again i cant guarantee as im not on 3.1.2. But my screen matches your's to a tee and thats the path of mine that matches what your shot shows.

i know i remember what my media folder looked like too.
i had the downloads folder saved as a favorite in iphonebrowser, and clicking on it doesn't work now. it's as if the folder no longer exists...
can anyone who's got 3.1.2 jbed confirm this?

I have a 3GS and used blackra1n to jb 3.1.2.
I am seeing the same thing when I try to access some folders. For example root\Library\Themes. I SSH'ed in using WinSCP, but when I click on the folder, it says that it does not exist. I tried using a USB cable and iFunBox, but it says the iPhone is "jailed" so it does not even recoginize the jailbreak.
I got creative and used WinSCP and iFile, but I hope I can use WinSCP and iFunBox again in the future as they were very handy.

Using WinSCP, I could only see the first level of some folders - like the Root\Library\Themes folder. I could see it, but when I tried to access it, it said it was not there and I could not see or access any of the contents.
iFile could see and access any folder, so I used WinSCP to copy the file over to a folder on the root, and I then used iFile to cut and paste it where I wanted it. Not efficient, but it worked.

Did you reboot the phone after JB?
I have 3GS on 3.1.2 and I see everything.

ok i just held down power and home and it's resetting. fingers crossed...
same thing. it goes to the media folder with no root folder...
according to this:
DiskAid - F.A.Q.
hmmm....Why don't I have access to the Root Folder of my iPhone or iPod Touch ?
•To access the entire filesystem of you device, you need a jailbroken device. If your device isn't jailbroken you will only have access to the Media Folder.
this is interesting...

the option to select root folder as the actual root folder is grayed out...cuz i'm not jailbroken...?!?!?!?!?!
but i am. i have cydia and a bunch of cydia apps...Last edited by ihaveabu; 10-11-2009 at 08:26 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

I am seeing the same thing. My explorer and browser programs do not see my iPhone as jailbroken. Strange.

Vista/Cydia/Clean Install
Not sure what caused it, but I modified the services.plist file as described here, and I can access all of my folders and files now.
blackra1n & iPhoneBrowser
