EVERYONE quickly... state your opinion.
I have an hour to make a decision on both issues. I'm normally not indecisive, but on these two things it matters neither way so I'll just let you decide. I'm stuck in the middle.

(1) I have a spare 1st gen 2g 8gb iphone that someone is offering a 2g 16gb touch for..... which would you do? I already have a 60gb video and a 32gb white 3GS so it's really like..... it don't matter.
(2) I am happily living on 3.0 FW, but having issues sending video through MMS without a red exclamation point. I was thinking of jailbreaking 3.1 and upgrading so I made the FW and have it sitting here, but haven't done it yet. With the bugs in 3.1, do I REALLY have a reason to upgrade just to try and get the red exclamation point off my MMS?
Think quick, act fast.

(2) is a no for me personally, but I'm looking for opinion. I have heard some nasty things about 3.1 so far.
(1) is... I really don't care. More storage is good... I won't b using the phone part anyway and the price of the 2g iphone is crap now. I ran mine twice on ebay @ $225 and it didn't sell,....... it just cost me $15 to try.Screw #Winning, I'm #Juanning

Sounds like you have answered your questions, yes there are still a few issues with 3.1 and yes the price of a 2G is low, (bought one last week on eBay for my Secretary and paid $145.00 with box & acc. shipping) so the Pod would make more sense.

Something int he last cydia update killed my lockscreeninfo package and my calendar isn't working anymore after updating cydia. Now I am beginning to not care about the upgrade or not as I didn't want to have to reset the lockscreen info package as it was a PITA.
Anyone hear of thisissue?Screw #Winning, I'm #Juanning

I know it's kind of late now, but I wanted to give my opinion.
Though it's hard to do because I know what a first gen 2g iPhone is. Haha. First generation second generation in one? Makes no sense to me.
I personally would keep the iPhone as it more of today's technology and it's fun messing with it. It's always good to have a back up anyway, just in case. Or you could simply use it for games so you don't kill the battery of the 3GS. Oh well.

If you can't figure this one out I can't help you.Though it's hard to do because I know what a first gen 2g iPhone is. Haha. First generation second generation in one? Makes no sense to me.
I dunno which one, but something in the update killed lockscreen info
LMK if you figure it out.
Lockscreen info has been updated in Cydia.

Sell your 2G. I got $300 for one of mine.
Upgrade. I did and have no issues (yet).
If I've helped you, you can help me by clicking on that Thanks button.

I was on 3.0 (3GS) and it was kinda running like crap. I was getting an average 100-110 mb free ram. Course that was with winterboard theming. But the phone was running real choppy.
Now on 3.1, of course at the moment all thats themed is my dock, but Ive running 145+ mb free ram constantly with upwards of over 165+ and no lag just like OTB.

What condition is the 2G in?
I am still on 3.0 on my 3Gs and my phone is running like a champ. I average around 165mb free...no choppiness anywhere. I run an iNav theme I created, iRealSMS backgrounding, a weather widget and a springboard calendar. I am not moving on to 3.1. I can't chance something borking during the upgrade.
Everything works on it except for the iTunes store? Heh.

I did BOTH and I'm very happy. I traded AND I went to 3.1. within ten minutes of going to 3.1 GV sent me an invite, my phone is only getting better by the minute. Love it.
