How to listen to iPhone conversation through car speakers?

I have an iPod dock connector in my car, and I can play music from my iPod, and listen to game sounds through the car speakers but unable to listen to iPhone conversations through the car speakers. Is this impossible to do? It would be nice not to have to hold my phone while talking and driving.

I have the same question. I have a touchscreen head unit but I don't have the bluetooth adapter (don't want to pay extra $$$). My 3G is hooked up to the head unit via USB and it plays music through my car speakers, but phone conversations go through the iPhone Speaker...and it's really hard to hear.

well with my car, i have an aux plug in spot, so i went out and bought the cord to connect my iphone to my car through the headphone jack. So now i can listen to music that way, and if someone calls, its the same way with headphones, it goes out that way.
