Please help - App won't delete

I tried to download an app from the app store. It started to install but then my spring board crashed. Now it is a plain white icon with nothing on it and no name. It says loading but I cannot pause it or delete it. I cannot install it by syncing or remove it because there is no name for it. It is draining my battery very fast because it is loading 'nothing' from the app store. And Im not able to install any other applications because they are waiting for that one app to install. Is there anyway you can force an app to delete?

Yes, o a hard reset on your phone by holding the home and power buttons

I did turn the phone completely off for a couple of minutes and turned it back on. Sorry, I forgot to mention that!

I did finally get it deleted. I was able to determine what app it was and redownloaded it in itunes and then synced to my phone again and somehow - the third sync, the app was deleted. Thanks again for your responses!

This just happens when a package doesnt install fully or the install is interrupted. Most of the time it clears itself but some times you just need to reset the phone or attempt to download it again to force it finish the process
