Not paying attention to the swatches, I know what wood looks best without looking so the wood to use is burl wood and birds eye maple. One will be light, one dark. Then you'll have both ends covered. Birds eye maple is used in Lexus. I like this project it looks good.

I like that. I like lighter wood (hate burl) but it has to be rich and deep and not flat like that Bird's Eye Maple.

Man that sure looks sweet! How are you accomplishing this? I am guessing that it is a vinyl cover. Are you planning on selling the back/ covers, or are you planning on offering this mod as a service ( meaning people send you the phone to be modded)? What kind of price are we looking at ?

No, no covers involved here. The phone looks as "factory" as it gets.

Unfortunately, this project being still in an early stage, the answer to all your questions is... TBD.

I'm tagging this to keep an eye on the topic, but I wanted to say that you've done a bang up job on this by the looks of it.

Any way to get some really good macro shots to see how everything fits together?

Also, any details on what the cases are being made from? It's absolutely caught my eye, but I think I might want something a bit different aside a wood finish.

You need to come up with a way to get around the apple logo because if not you are going to spend all this R&D only to find you can't sell a single one without a lawsuit.
