broken iPhone 3G good deal?

A friend of mine offered me his broken iPhone for pretty much 30 bucks. It is an 8gb 3G with a cracked screen and the sleep/wake button doesn't work. Is this a good deal? About how much will it cost to get those fixed?

This repair should cost approximately $100.00/$125.00. You may find it cheaper but do your homework and make sure you have a reputable person/company doing the repair. There are a few members here on the forum that do this type of repair also that are very respected and reputable.
