I'm selling my iphone so i can buy the white 3gs. I have a black 3gs now, if i just buy the new 3gs and stick my SIM card in will i be good to go? Like my # i have now will go to the new phone? All i should have to do is just sync the new iphone with my laptop and gmail for contacts and be good to go?

your number will be carried over, yes, but you need to make sure that the iphone is either factory unlocked or compatible with your simcard, or else you can't use your sim

What he means by compatible is that your SIM card and service must be from an official carrier of the iPhone in your area.
