I'm hoping someone can help with this cos its driving me nuts and I've googled it and can't seem to find an answer.

I have a jailbroken iPhone 3G and iTunes 9 running on win XP machine.
The first time I connected to iTunes after I installed itunes 9 everything was fine....did the "Verifying iPhone" thing in iTunes and let me sync everything.
After shutting down the PC now whenever I connect my phone iTunes freezes completely and the iPhone doesn't show up.
I've tried rebooting the phone, rebooting the PC, unistalling iTunes and reinstalling all to no avail.
Tried different USB ports and a dfifferent USB cable...nothing.

iPhone will register on my laptop running itunes 9 on XP,which i've never used to sync the iphone.

anyone else having this problem and please please tell me someone has found a soloution!!

im having the same problem and it is very annoying!!!!!
im using iphone 2g and i did the same things you did without any help.
do you have your iphone jailbroken?

Actually after lots of googling and no replies here :-( I fixed it.
COMPLETELY wiped all traces of apple products from my PC then downloaded and installed iTunes 8.2
now everything is working fine again.
My advice...try unistalling itunes and all other apple products.
Google it there are many guides for removing all the other crap iTunes installs.
Then reinstall the older version of iTunes and you'll be fine.
