Deleting data from iphone w/o complete restore

so i have a 3gs and im selling it to a complete stranger he wants it to stay unlocked but i do not want to sell it with my personal data on it. is there a way of removing all my data but without restoring?

Everything else personal you can delete using itunes...just uncheck them.

As for contacts....Create a new Windows user account. There will be no contacts in this user’s account. Open iTunes, on the Info tab, Select ‘Sync contacts with Outlook’ , all contacts. Then in the Advanced section at the bottom, select ‘Contacts’ below ‘Replace information on this phone’.

Now click Sync. Since there are no contacts and you’re replacing the ones that are there, the result is No Contacts!

i was thinking of just syncing with a different computer and canceling once it erases the data. would this work?
