What's The Advantage of 3.0, 3.0.1, & 3.1 Over 2.2.1?

Guys, I'm thinking about upgrading from fw 2.2.1 to either 3.0, 3.0.1 or 3.1. And, I currently am using a PC. I got 2 questions:

1) What are the advantages of 3.0, 3.0.1, and 3.1 over 2.2.1?

2) How's the battery life in 3.0, 3.0.1, and 3.1 compared to 2.2.1?

well 3.0 gives you a lot of awesome new features but the battery life is bad. the battery life on all of thme is bad.
3.0.1 makes it so ur iphone cant be hacked anymore bc on 3.0 theres a virus that can hack ur iphone.
And 3.1 i dont really know about it and if i ws u i would either upgrade to 3.0 or 3.0.1 because u cant jailbreak 3.1 on pc yet

I honestly wish I would have never upgraded from 2.2. The few features I gained were not worth the drop in battery life my phone suffered.

app compatibility? a lot of apps will soon not be working for 2.2.1 and bellow as they are being developed for 3.0+

Ya ever since I upgraded to 3.0 my battery sucks it evens loses battery when my phone is off or in lockmode

definetly, battery life sucks big time on 3.0 and higher. but the widescreen keyboard when typing sms alone is enough to keep me on 3.0 ... not that I have a choice with the 3GS

Yes it is much worse with 3.0 - 3.01. Seems hit or miss but many people have complained about worse battery life after upgrading.

As far as the new apps available with 3.x. Copy and paste is about the only thing I use. MMS still is not available(AT&T), Search light is useless (wish I could remove it) I had Push mail with 2.2.1 so that's nothing new and I don't play music or games so none of the other upgrades do any thing for me personally.

3.1 screws up your album list. it creates another same album name for each new artist, ie if song 1 and song 2 have the same album name let's say called coolalbum, but have different artists say artist 1 and artist 2, it'll create 2 categories with the same album title "coolalbum" and under each one it'll have each artist listed. before it used to have one album catergory, ie "coolalbum" and all songs with that album will be stored in it regardless of new artists. damn how can apple screw this up?

it has always been like this except for when you mark the two albums as compilations. do that in itunes and they will show up as one album.
