Battery problem !!

Hello all,

My friend's iPhone 3G battery dies so fast when the SIM card is in. Jailbroken or not. 3G is disabled and is not even enabled by the provider.

a little more detail wouldn't hurt. what is "so fast". does taking out the sim card completly stop the problem? how does he use his iphone, what services (push, bluetooth, wifi, ...) are turned on etc.

So fast is like 30 % dies in 1 hour without anything turned on.

Wifi is off, 3G is off, Bluetooth is off and so is SSH. When SIM card is not inserted only 2% die in 1 hour.

that is fast, indeed.
have you tried another sim card? could be a problem with your sim card for some reason. or it could be that the iphone is trying to access the internet all the time, for some reason. hard to say. anyway, try another sim if possible (if the phone is unlocked). if it doesn't help or no other sim is available, bring the phone to apple or call them about it.

Have you tried restoring and setting up as new?

I did try another SIM yes, and I also tried restoring several times.. Weird issue this is !
