Forgive me for asking such a basic question, but I am getting a replacement 3gs due to a fault will i be able to just connect the new phone into i tunes and ask it to sync in order to get all the music/ringtones/videos etc into the new phone. Thanks

yep, should be no problems. all official stuff (music, ringtones, apps, notes, contacts, sms etc.) should sync to your new phone. if you jailbroke your phone you will have to re-do that and install every jailbreak-app again, though
