iphone 3g battery won't charge

Hi,
I have a 3g iphone jailbroken with 2.0 firmware.A couple of days ago my daughter was playing some games on it.Later I decided to put it on charge.The next day I say the battery was still low and slowly it lost all its charge.Now when I power it on It shows low power and plugin.But after plugging it in nothing happens no charging screen.Cannot go into Dfu mode also.
Still under warrany but cannot take it in as jailbroken. Any help will be appreciated.Thanks all.

If iTunes still recognizes it, you can restore it.
Perhaps it's the charger or USB cord that is bad. Have you tried other methods?

1 - Did you try an alternate USB cable?
2 - Did u try both the wall charger and the PC/MAC usb?
3 - Did you try holding the Home+Power button for 15sec?
4 - If "dead" there is no way to tell that it is JB - just go to the A-store once you are certain it is "dead"

The iphone was jailbroken and I was using It.I have tried an alternate USB cable On The wall and PC and even with a car charger. Itunes does not recognise my phone. Is it possible I fried the battery.

As posted, if it will not charge and has a blank screen then you should not have any problems taking it to Apple for a replacement.
