    Default anyone help..pls...

    Now my iPhone 3G is on 3.0.1 Firmware..how do i upgrade to firm 3.1? Should i click Restore or Update to update to 3.1? Or should i restore to Ori 3.1 Apple firmware? Any guide? btw im using windows and i already have the custom 3.1 firmware. but when i tried 2 restore...i got an error even im in DFU mode...

    No one reply? ok just let me know...what should i do first..now im in 3.0.1 firmware... i tried to restore to custom 3.1 firmware..but get an error. should i restore to 3.1 apple software first then restore it again using custom or i just need to update my firmware 3.0.1 to custom 3.1 firmware ?? pls reply...anyone??

    don't restore to apples firmware, it will break your unlock if you have/need one!

    restoring to your custom firmware should work. if dfu mode doesn't work, try restoring to your custom FW without dfu mode, that worked fine for me when dfu-mode-restore wouldn't work. if that doesn't work it's maybe a problem with the created firmware, try creating another one.

    oh, and if you are able to create custom FWs you must have access to a mac. you can try restoring at the mac.
    I've had problems with restoring 3G iphones alot, so it's not very unusual. But I always got it to work with just trying around a lot

    you mean using the restore option not the update?

    NEVER use the update button for custom IPSWs. that's a no-go (as a matter of fact, don't use the update button on any kind of jailbroken device. it will only lead to trouble)
