Upgrading?

I have a friend that still has a 2g with no urge to upgrade my question is can he go get the 3gs and then trade it to me for my 3g? Will everything work on the phones is basically what I'm asking

It depends. . he can restore your phone as his old one I'm sure and you can restore yours from your old backup. But if the new one is on 3.1 you might not be able to JB

Yes. You can both swap phones, just make sure they're both backed up.
