Apps won't start :(
So I have a jailbroken and unlocked iPhone 2G which was on firmware 2.2 a couple days ago. I decided to download some new games, but it required the 2.2.1 firmware so i downloaded the 2.2.1 fw, jailbroken and unlocked, however the apps wouldn't load. So I'm like... I should just upgrade to the 3.0.1 fw and i did, but apps still won't load. What should I do D:

Welcome to MMi,
are you referring to purchased/free apps from the App Store?

Are they apps that you bought from the appstore and then immediately they wont work or have they been on your system for a while.... Sometimes they can get deleted or your itunes account can get reset not giving you permissions....They arn't cracked apps are they? If they are cracked i know the obvious problem but you have to go fix it somewhere else

They're just free apps from the app store. I've tried reinstalling them, but they just won't work :S

Did you set your phone up as New or restore from a back-up?

He means did you strart it up as a blank iphone again or did you get to keep contacts and photos and stuff. What happens when you try to open them does it open and then crash...
Go into iTunes click Store/Authorize Computer Then type the info used when you bought the apps. then sync your iphone again

Well.. my contacts, messages.. and photos are still there...
And when i open the apps, it loads for less than a second then goes back to the springboard

Well then only thing I can suggest to you is........
Restore your phone, making sure you set it up as a new phone and then run the jailbreak again. This way you have a clean 3.0.1 OS and a fresh jailbreak.

When I click on "restore" though, it says "All all media and data will be erased, and the newest version of the iPhone software will be installed" which is 3.1 right? :S So how should I do it? :X
(I'm sorry if I'm being a complete idiot, lol)

If your still running iTunes 8.2 you will have no problem. Did you update iTunes to 9.0? Even if you did you have a 2G phone so it will not be a problem.
Here is a link to firmware files as well as the bootloaders you need.

this is quite strange the only thing i could think to do is do a clean restore without jailbreak and make sure it works then go from there.
I keep hoping you are going to say "well when i click on it all the icons start to shake" lulz that would make my day

this has happened to me once before. the way i resolved it was by downloading another free app from the app store. i ran that new download once and was able to open the other apps afterward. just a tip in case it happens again.
