A slight digression from another tethering question re 3.1 not supporting tethering, but does that mean that even with a jaibroken phone running 3.1, pdanet etc doesn't function. I appreciate that that is unofficial tehtering, but if that's the case then this 3.1 firmware is much more insidious than we thought

Read through all the posts, I stated earlier that PDANET works fine on 3.1 its your desktop client you need to update to 1.54 instead of 1.53. It supports itunes 9.0 compatibility.

StealthBravo,

Which jailbreak tool do you think will have the tethering fix? Pwnage Tool?

Has anybody gotten the 6.0 carrier file to work with 3.1.2 and re-enable tethering?

It's packed!

I added a 3GS 3.1.2 version in our repository, iFoneguide.
You can find this source in Cydia by simply searching for it, or look under the More Package Sources.
This version is 3GS only, and only for firmware 3.1.2.

If someone can upload his/hers 3G CommCenter file, I'll add a 3G version too.

Thank you, after installing the profile at Ben.m.at, tethering was up and running. I prefer to have access to the native tethering over MyWi so this is great. I'll test out mms and visual voice mail tomorrow and post results.

I haven't updated my 3GS from the firmware it came with (3.0) because I don't want to lose tethering on it. With this package, is it safe to upgrade to 3.1.2 now? Thanks.

I have a 3GS running OS 3.1.2 and I have tethering, mms and visual voicemail working with no problems. For native tethering, use the tethering hack on the repo "iPhone-notes.de" from Cydia. I have that and MyWi running because I got antsy, couldn't wait, and purchased MyWi before the hack was available.

I have just installed the tethering hack just to see if it works and can't find tethering anywhere. I thought I was supposed to see a toggle under General-Network ?
Or am I completely wrong?
