it's always been possible to change that, but I suppose you mean with your own custom tone.
if it were possible, you would obviously find it in settings > sounds. so no, it's not possible, sorry.

You can't change the default alert tones (which is why you can't add more only replace them).
So jailbreak is needed.I always feel sorry for the guy in the iPhone commercials. He always gets a call right in the middle of trying to do something
