Weird wi-fi issues

Hey guys just a little help needed....my i fone connects to Wi fi spots (Unlocked)...SSID, Router I.P Address comes up perfectly on phone..when i try to connect to something or if i try to update my resources i get cannot connect to host....Please a little help..... V 1.1.3 Jailbreaked and Unlocked...i was told to try WPA-sk2 i have no idea what that means...a little help would go a LONG way as i'm eager to install 3rd party apps etc..

wpa-sk2 is like wep i think.

its basically the password i believe. you need to enter the password when prompted (wpa-sk2). if it doesn't work after this, im stumped.

restore to 1.1.4 and start from there
