location of 3.0.1
looks like ive got a bad download of 3.0.1 from itunes so i want to deleat it and get a new but i cant find it iam using vista can anyone tell me where it is

cheers for that but i want to know the location of the file on c drive so i can deleat it and get a new from itunes

well what about in control panel, add/remove.

the reason is my phone is doing odd things after i reinstaled 3.0.1 so i want itunes to download a fresh copy so i can start again oh and its not in Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPhone Software Updates i havent got documents and settings file

Is the folder empty or just the firmware isn't there?
If it's not there, then you don't have one. iTunes should download you a new one.
Also, are you restoring from backup or setting up as new. If your phone is acting strangely, set up as new will probably do the trick after a restore.I always feel sorry for the guy in the iPhone commercials. He always gets a call right in the middle of trying to do something

but seems you found it already
