I don't think so. Makeitmine.
I always feel sorry for the guy in the iPhone commercials. He always gets a call right in the middle of trying to do something

He could've recorded that to a voicemail and then named the contact 611

The iPhone only has GSM capability. Verizon is CDMA. Also current CDMA technology is not compatible with SIM cards... you must use a "R-UIM" card instead which are not used in the USA. Sorry... this is retarded and not possible.
Do some research on GSM vs CDMA. GSM is a type of TDMA (Time Division Multiple Access) which is not even close to being compatible with CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access) technology.Last edited by Poseidon79; 08-27-2009 at 05:08 PM.

This man is a liar! I am not even in the US and I know how he did it. Do not be fooled. Look at the video again closely!
He saved that 611 voice recording as a voicemail greeting on a friend's phone and even saved that friend's contact as the 611 on his phone. Noticed when he dialed 611, the iPhone displayed "611 calling main"? It means it IS A contact in his phone.
I am sure that this person is nothing but a common thief out to get people's money!!!
Still a little skeptical?
Verizon uses CDMA which is SIMless and it's technology is far from GSM. How can a phone with a GSM radio make and recieve calls on a CDMA network? Even more so, with CDMA 2000 networks, the internet access is what people refer t as EVDO 1xrtt. Can a GPRS/EDGE/3G radio access that? Check wikipedia or a telecom engineer to see if I'm right...
The verizon carrier displayed? Yep, you guessed it; MakeItMine.
After the hard work of all the developers of the iPhone Toolchain and jailbroken apps, this person seeks to capitalize on people's ignorance to fill his pocket with riches.SMS: OK
