Sorry my first post here couldn't be of much use, but I need urgent help with a problem I've had after updating my iPhone from 1.1.4 to 3.0.0 and then JB/UL with redsn0w 0.8.
I salvaged an address book database file from somewhere (AddressBook.sqlitedb) with all my ~700 contacts.
I now want to replace the iPhone's previous empty contact database file with the AddressBook.sqlitedb I have. When I do replace it in /var/root/Library/AddressBook the iPhone contacts list remains exactly the same as it was before.
Any ideas?
Would like an answer ASAP, please
I'd appreciate it if someone could answer fast, I have very limited time to do this.
EDIT: I really like forums where 63 people view and not one even tries to suggest the tiniest nugget of information.
After much exploration, I replaced the address book database in /var/mobile/Library/AddressBook and then SSH'ed into the iPhone using PuTTY, logged in as root. Then, I used command
Code:
chown mobile /var/mobile/Library/AddressBook/AddressBook.sqlitedb
and hit enter.
The iPhone then (upon disconnection) showed the Apple logo and a progress bar underneath (probably parsing the database). And I was done.
Thanks alot modmyi.com members to the friendly approach to new members of the community.
