What's the deal with firmware differences

I load YouTube with 2 identical 2G phones except one is on 2.2.1 and the other on 3.0. The YouTube videos are the same, but the preview slide is different. Same with the app store. The ratings and preview images are different for each firmware even though it's the same phone. Anyone know why?

well, ratings should definetly be same same, are you sure about that? preview screenshots HAVE to be the same, on 3.0 you just slide through them differently.

youtube preview ... maybe, the youtube.app was majorly updatet on 3.0

identical phones (2g 8gb) 2.2.1 V/S 3.0 even the ratings in the store are different. There is no consistency here at all. What are we to believe?

hahahaha wow....never noticed that. i wonder if 3.0 syncs differently on apples side due to the changes in things like push and what not. just an idea

only thing I could think of is that 2.2.1 ignores ratings from 3.0 iphones or app-versions that are 3.0 only or something.

I mean preview pics in youtube is quite possible, maybe they changed how the iphone gets the preview or maybe youtube generates multiple previews and the iphone pics another one on the new firmware.

but the ratings in the appstore are really strange
