iTunes 8.2... Is it safe for jailbreaked iPhone and iTouch???

I want to know if downloading the update is safe for those like me that have an iPhone jailbreak and iTouch too. I once saw a topic talking about the new iTunes 8.2 and the last thing I remember reading was that it was not safe yet. Im making the question beacuse iTunes already ask me for the update and I want to be sure before doing anything. Also beacause I have jailbreak some iphones and itouchs for some friends and tell them not to update to 8.2. Any help will be deeply apreciated.
