If you update to 3.0.1 through check for update does your jailbreak get erased?

well I heard theres a 3.1 jailbreak already =P for beta 3. So I'm not sure whether or not to upgrade to that or not. I heard that theres better battery on 3.1

I just did the 3.0.1 restore and then back to 3.0/redsnow game, and, strangely enough, some of my stuff was not wiped off the phone. My carrier name was still gone, replaced by my nickname. My battery percentage indicator was still there. and a few other little hacks as well. Actually, I restored as new to 3.0.1, misread the directions and restored back to 3.0, figured THAT mistake out, re-restored as new to 3.0.1, and then got back in line with the redsnow-installed 3.0. Through all of that, the stuff listed above stuck. Quite surprising. Phone (3G) is working great, everything Cydia back as it was and re-synced as well.
