    Default iphone 3g unlock ?

    hey guys,
    i just got the 16gb 3g iphone it has been activated previously. would the iphone work if i restore it with my 2g backup and just put my sim in there ?? or do would i have to unlock the iphone ?

    I certainly would never restore to a previous back up. This method causes so many problems but it's your call. If it has been activated your sim should be fine.

    the reason why i say restore is. my contacts,notes etc are able to be restored. but the situation described above will be able to work ?

    If your on AT&T should not be a problem.
    Here is a link to how you can SSH and recover your files and not have to sync from a back up. It is the preferred method.

    im on AT&T. but me internet is the media net unlim. i think that can get 3g not sure if it workd

    what i did is the 3g i bought had 3.0 already so i just put my back up file on the phone and it work. only problems im having is im not able to get rid of old ringtones or songs on the iphone and some apps start up and then shutdown.
