Safari download plugin

Hi Guys,
Hope someone can help, jailbroke iphone 3GS 3.0 a little while ago downloaded the safari download plugin, downloaded a couple of files and everything was fine, problem is that for some reason, when i try to download a file all that happens is that a new page opens, and lots of 'code' appears on the page, then when the page is almost loaded it shuts down the safari browser!

I have tried reinstalling the plugin but still nothing, any ideas. I read somewhere that something needs to be set to 777 but cant remember what or how to do it. I have SSH WinScp but not sure what i should be checking.

Also can anyone tell me where the downloaded files are supposed to go, the file i downloaded before it stopped working and the files i download in appolous go to /root/var/mobile/libary/downloads is that correct

I have this same problem too. Some downloads work (like from Megaupload) but others don't (mp3s, torrents, some mp4) My permissions are 777 so that's not the problem. Please help!

All my files would not download not just some of them. I almost restored but found that safari plugin was not turned on in settings and that fixed it. I didn't notice at first as one of the advanced boss pref programs I installed removed the option to turn the plugin on and off and I didn't relise.
