A lot of people have been having issues importing their SIM contacts to their newly updated iPhone, be it jailbroken, unlocked, or not.

The problem is, for whatever reason, the new iPhone firmware does not allow special characters to be imported onto the new phone.

So the only solution is to:
Get a different phone.
Put your SIM card into that phone.
Access your phone book from said phone.
Delete any contact using characters other that A-Z. This includes !@#$%^&*() And the like.

Once deleted just pop your SIM card back into your iPhone and import. It should now work.
