iPhone Battery now lasts about 2 hours??

My iPhone has all of a sudden started lasting about 2 hours on a full charge, and e.g. last night it was on 40%, put on standby, and woke up this morning on 12%, with nothing that i am aware of running in the background. No SSH or anything like that.

Is there an app i can download to check what is using my battery, or to check if my battery is ok?

Its an iPhone 3G and its about 12 months old.

Any help will be much appreciated

have you tried sbsetting to make sure you dont have any processes running???

yep :/ only ever phone and mail :S
