Question with jailbreaking ipod touch 2g

Ok I jail broke using redsnow and I got through all the steps and it went to this screen that looks like a harddrive with a green arrow pointing down and a spinning pin wheel at the bottom. It has been on this screen for awhile now and I was wondering if it is supposed to take this long. Please get back to me.

it should reboot within a minute or so...if not, just repeat the jailbreaking process

It turns out my brother is an idiot and he wasn't even on 3.0
I'm restoring and getting the firmware.

make sure to use redsnow 7.2 (the one i used) or if 8.0 is out, use that. it should tell you version in the .exe name and the first page upon opening it.
