Cydia Crashes

My Cydia crashes every time I try to open it now. It worked like a second ago, it was downloading releases and now it stopped working. I have a 3GS jailbroken with Redsn0w. Any suggestions?

Oh ok, that's fine. I was just wondering what was going on. Found a neat theme and decided to download it, and then poof.... stopped working haha.

Well for everyone so far there is a fix in the "3g unrestrictor" thread.

You gotta SSH in and delete the apt.bigboss repo list manually.

It seems to be showing more and more the longer I wait. I'm at work right now so I can't do SSH because I apparently didn't install SSH on my phone... I'll just see if maybe it fixes itself.

Thanks so much for the quick responses!

This fix didn't work for me. Anyone else? Deleted apt.bigboss there were 3 of them and reboot - still crashing.

i had same problem with cydia recently on my 3gs, here's what i did. rejailbreak using redsn0w 0.8 and make sure to install icy too. then use icy and install apt and mobileterminal. open up mobileterminal and type

su
alpine
apt-get remove cydia
apt-get install cydia
Yes, do what I say!

reboot and that should work

BUT if you get an error when typing the command 'apt-get remove cydia', then open mobileterminal and type

su
alpine
cd ..
cd lib
cd apt
cd lists
rm apt.big*

then rejailbreak using redsn0w 0.8 with cydia.

How to fix Cydia....

go to apt.saurik.com and get the latest cydia .deb

* Open WinSCP see (SSH Tutorial above) and login to your iPod Touch/iPhone
* Put your .deb application file in the tmp folder
* In WinSCP hold Ctrl and press T, go forward with the warnings and type this command
* dpkg -i /tmp/myapp.deb
* Installation of the file will start
* Now respring your iPod Touch/iPhone
Thanks to ipodtouchtricks.net for that one...
