applying downloads to iphone

i did the jailbreak on my iphone and i went to download a slider but i dont know how to apply it to my iphone

Have you looked in winterboard, apply it there.

That may be your problem. Open Cydia and search for Winterboard. That is what controls and where they are located your that you download.
Or, are you downloading them from the web and trying to apply them?
