    Default Do i need to sign a AT&T contract in the Apple shop to buy a 3GS?

    I am gonna be in NY next week and i want to get the 3GS from there. Can i just walk into an Apple shop and buy the 3GS without signing the contract there and then? And then "activate" (jailbreak) it at home?
