Getting a new iPhone...some advice on iTunes please

Hi all,

I currently have a jailbroken 2g iphone running 3.0 firmware. On friday I will be getting a 3g iphone to replace it.

I plan to unlock/jailbreak the new iphone. Currently my 2g iphone syncs with my main pc (I sync music, ringtones and some pics). My contacts/emails etc are synced over the air with google sync.

When I get the new phone I will be away from home and unable to use the main pc - I will only have my laptop.

Is it possible somehow to take a backup of my current phone, transfer that to the laptop so that I can restore the new phone as a backup of my existing one. The question is then what will happen when I go to sync the new 3g one with my main pc again??

Why would you get a 3G?
