My music and contacts always gone..

So with every Firmware update...I have realized that I have lost all my contacts and music. I understand the entire iphone backup thing on my itunes. But with the 2 computers at my house and the iphones at the house its diffcult to have a itunes that recognizes my iphone...

my question is there anything i can do to save all my contacts? Wouldnt i just save the file somewhere in the var path?

What about music? How can i use the itunes for instance my brother is using for his iphone? Because it will prompt me to restore my phone?

Any ideas?

Just cancel the restore and sync.
