Problems Making Skype Calls On Edge

I am using the latest version of Skype on my 3G iPhone with Edge. My phone is running firmware 3.0 and is jailbroken and unlocked with Ultrasn0w.

Skype works fine with Wifi, but it won’t let me make calls with Edge. I get the following error message (see attached screen shot) referring to 3G when in fact I don’t even have 3G service set up on my phone here on the AIS network in Thailand.

Any thoughts on how I might be able to make Skype calls over Edge would be much appreciated.

that's because you can only make calls and send sms via wifi on skype. try downloading voipover3g from cydia which tricks your phone into think it's running on wifi when it's in fact not. it works for me, however, i've seen people saying that it's not working on their iphone 3.0
