    Default SMS Transfer

I recently switched from my iPhone 2G to a 3G. All of my text messages are still on the 2G and I was wondering if there is a way to transfer them to the 3G besides a restore. Thanks.

SSH into your 2G phone and navigate to "/private/var/mobile/Library". From there download the entire "SMS" folder, then SSH into the 3G to the same location and replace the SMS folder.

Edit: Just noticed you had one post, so you probably don't know how to SSH. Here is a guide on it: http://modmyi.com/wiki/index.php/SSH_on_Windows

Before you do that and do your restore, the actual folder all of your SMS messages are in is "/Users/Library/SMS". Copy the entire SMS folder to your desktop then replace it on your 3G and make sure the permissions are correct after the replacing so it will work; I've had some problems with that.

Do you mean "/usr "or "/User"? Because "/User" is a shortcut that takes you straight to "/private/var/mobile"

Touche, well-played sir. I can honestly say I did not know that. My fault.
