Do I have to unlock again after restore?

I tried erasing all data/content on my 1st generation running 2.2.1 iphone. It got stuck at the end and wouldn't reboot. Per advice on another thread, I put it in DFU mode and am restoring it.

Am I going to have to unlock it again? I don't care if it's jailbroken or not, but I need to be unlocked.

you can only unlock a jailbroken phone, and since you said you need it unlocked i'm assuming you're not using it with a supported service provider which would require that you jailbreak so you can activate your phone. just use redsn0w and check unlock and let it do its thing
