This was fixed on Motorola phones by editing a file. Hopefully it will be that simple on the iPhone

I had a treo 650 prior to the iphone and they were notorious for the same issues.
Someone actually developed a program (basically a background hack) that when installed, ignored the limits placed on the volume controls by the software. You could crank it up as loud as you want - just dont blow up your speaker.
I am sure someone will figure this out in short order.

Does anyone have an original com.apple.celestial.plist they can send me? I noticed the original (which I don't have anymore) had more settings than the one minicris keeps sending us to.
