Error 3014 when trying a legitimate restore?
My iPhone 3GS which I haven't modified at all and only have a couple free apps installed on it won't restore. I get error 3014 every time I try to restore my iPhone. I thought I would ask ModMyi before calling Apple and waiting on hold for 20 minutes.

I finally got it to work. I had to reinstall iTunes 8.2 Pre Release and download a new 3.0 Firmware file and restore. My 3.0 Firmware file must have been corrupted.

For me, the problem must definitely be caused by my ISP/network, but I found an easy way to not have to find a second network: McCulloch House Blog: iPhone OS 3.0.1 Update Error 3014 SOLUTION

just add
74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com
to file c:/windows/system32/drivers/etc/hosts
(run note pad as admin & open file)
add that to bottom close itunes and open again should work fine

i've tried everything you said but no luck...
Hi,
I have the iPhone 3GS and I have iTunes version 9.2. I keep getting the 3014 error...!!
I've tried AnchorFree's Hotspot Shield but it didn't work. A friend of mine said he simpy plugged his mac with a cable to the internet but i tried that too and it didn't work.
I tried restoring and that didn't help...
what should I do???
I'm desperate...
Thanks a lot for any kind of help...

Fix for error 3014 & 3094
FIX FOR ERROR 3014 & 3094 when upgrading to 4.x OS
The errors depend on what mode your in, Error (3014) from Recovery Mode and Error (3094) from DFU Mode.
Open iTune, Click on Store and choose Log-in. Log-in using the same credentials used to download and install apps on the iphone.

iPhone 3GS 8GB iOS 4.0.1 Error 3014 & sometimes 3002
When ever I take the Device into DFU mode to restore I get right now mainly the error 3014
I was using the iPhone it was working fine until I noticed safari and the volume button + on restarts noticed a line accross the screen, So I thought to restore the device but
it didnt allow me to restore so then I tried resetting to Factory Using the Erase All content under the Resets menu...
After tht the phone crashed and now refuses to start up and now when I try restoring it gives me the same error 3014...
Im using iTunes 9.2.1, Window 7 system, and Download the restore from apples website ... Ill try downloading again!
Awaiting any response on this if possible to fix!!
Thanks in Advance
EDIT: I tried the above of signing into the account which I used to install apps or used over the device... but still same error!
