No don't restore. It is a theme issue. Search this forum there are a couple things to try.
For me I just deleted the statusbar.png file from the root of my theme directory, which worked for me. Someone else had a fix by editing the plist file but I don't remember exactly what.

All I did was go to winterboard and uncheck "solid status bar", that should fix it.

deleting any status bar images from the actual theme's folders hasn't been working for me.. neither has unchecking any other status bar mods winterboard uses.. wahhhhh.

ok fixed it.. i had a theme called MacUI, which is sweet btw. disabled that and now i'm good to go! though now my ui looks lame winterboard get fixed! or themers use the updated folder/file names!

it seems like forcing the solid status bar causes this... I have tried it in themes and by manually setting it in the plist.. once an app opens (and uses its own plist value for statusbar)it causes it to disappear entirely..

I havent been able to find a way around it.. uncheck solid status bar in winterboard and if that doesnt work, the theme you are using is setting that value.. open the info.plist of the theme you are using and delete the key for statusbar..
