See post 10.

Again, If you want me to explain how to click on a link and install a Firefox extension let me know.

I'm the only one in this thread who did give a solution, yet I have to deal with this grief from a bunch of monkeys? What gives...

Ahh I apologize. But from what I understand, this will only let him view his contacts, not put them back on his iPhone. Though I suppose he can then export them somewhere that syncs with the iPhone

Why is using windows contacts crappy? I've always used it and have never had a single problem with it.

He gets his contacts back, then he can manually add them to his phone. I think that's a good enough solution

Ummm... not if you have 217 contacts, most with multiple numbers.

My solution seems better to restore to 2.x and then backup with iTunes and restore to 3.0.

But anyways, the man has his solutions. This thread doesn't need to stay open...

Your solution isn't a solution to his problem. WTF, kid?

And who said he has 217 contacts? If you have 217 contacts then you have a decent back up solution in place. Unless those 217 contacts are nerds you met on XBOX Live, which I have a feeling may be the case.

What's wrong with you bud? Why are you making random personal attacks when I haven't said anything about you.

Why are you calling me and the other guy kid anyways? Are you 100 years old?

And back to the point, my solution is still better, as he will get his contacts back onto his phone faster my way than yours. Unless of course he has 10 contacts.

Lol, you serious? Well the average person doesn't abuse their computer usage and search porn/hack programs all day - leading to a pretty stable machine. If I knew that my machine was prone to crash often I wouldn't of bothered buying it. And IF it did ever crash, my contacts are probably the last thing I'd be worried about losing on this computer. My specs are sexy though, so I don't see a crash ever happening

Why can't you ssh them back in? Has the location changed in 3.0?

And like others have said. Use Windows Address Book, Outlook, or Gmail/Yahoo. I personally go the Outlook route myself. As far as backing up goes...my computer does it automatically 3 times a week. No loss there.

EDIT:

I am not sure about your phone(I am on a 3G), but my contacts are in /var/root/Library/AddressBook. It looks like it has changed.

EDIT AGAIN: Well it looks like there is one in /var/mobile/Library as well. That is weird. So disregard my post unless it has to be in both locations?
