So just now my friend was messing around looking for new apps and what not. He said that there was an update for swirlymms2, I said go for it. Turns out is is for 2g and now my phone keeps trying to restart and gets stuck on the apple screen. I have a 3g jailbroken and unlocked. What do I do?

Sounds like you'll have to put in DFU mode and restore it is stuck at the boot screen. Did you try holding both power and home and reset? Doubt it will help, but you could try. Good luck.

Doing this won't brick it or mess it up in anyway will it? Would I have to jailbrake and unlock again?

No, you'll be fine. Yes you will have to J/B again if you do a restore.
