3gs - general question
Hey guys, I have been doing some research into the iPhone as I am a new iphone owner (3gs)
to hack it, the have to hack the firmware part of the phone and baseband part. I gather this means to hack the OS and the Modem of the phone.
My question is, where on the phone, or what utility can I use to check what FW, and Baseband versions I am using.
Also, as I understand, for a 3GS JB, I have to leave me Baseband where it is, and just update the FW, what is the safest way to undoubtedly upgrade the FW while leaveing the BB alone?
(Apologize if this is a rookie question, but I am still reading / learning about the phone so I can be a little more useful / resourceful)
Thanks for your help!Previous Phone: AT&T Tilt

Your firmware and baseband (modem firmware) can be found on your phone at:
Settings>General>About
To upgrade and preserve your baseband you must upgrade to a custom firmware (created using the dev teams pwnage tool)
Don't get yourself to confused. Just dont upgrade to 3.0.1 when its released and when the jailbreaks released everything will be spelt out nice and clearly by the dev team for all of us.The Original Autobot of MMiJesus couldn't turn into a fire engine
