So am I the first person to crack the 3GS Screen?
Soooooooo I dropped my 3GS tonight (while drunk of course) and the outer glass is cracked, badly. The screen is still fully functional, so I know I only need the outer glass and digitizer replaced. However, I realized this phone has been out for 4 days and is there even legit repair service available yet? I know the 3GS screen is different (like how it so easy to wipe off finger prints)and I want to make sure if I send my phone to some company to replace it that they give me the proper screen, not just a regular 3G screen. So let me know what you think I should do.

You might be the second... This guy dropped it getting out of a car and shattered the screen... Seeing that would bring tears to a glass eye...

So i contacted a guy from this website to first ask if the screen for the 3G and 3GS that he is different and he said yes. so now im waiting on another reply when i asked him if it is going to have the oleophobic coated screen.
You think this site is legit?

so i went to the apple store today and they confirmed the only way to fix it threw them is paying $199. iphone3gscreenrepair.com offers replacements for both the 3G and 3GS and i confirmed with a sales rep today that the 3GS screen is the new version with the oleophobic screen for $120. so im going to go ahead with this and hope it comes back ok

Apple or ATT isnt going to take the phone back after you've broken it, that voids everything.
You'll need a new glass/digitizer combo, the part for a 3g is $35 approx. and of course I know the 3gs has a flim on the screen but that part isnt out yet to purchase that ive seen. Aside from that the 2 are the same. You'll also need the adhesive made for applying the glass which is about $6.
Its not that hard (IMO) to swap.

CPJR ive been thinking, would a 3G be able to utilise the 3GS screen?
From the dissassembly photos they are identical apart from the coating? ...The Original Autobot of MMiJesus couldn't turn into a fire engine

It feels nicer when you slide your finger across it too.
At least it does to me.
