Help with OS 3.0

Upgraded my Old School Edge Network iphone to the new OS 3.0. Now my PC will see the phone but not the music on itunes(gray out). My mac at work will not see the phone at all. Not even for charging. The mac see the phone for a split second on boot up, then loses connection. I have heard the little chirp that goes along with connection. I have read the post on how to have the mac see the phone but not when I cannot see the pc. I little help Please.
